The 2016 Nigerian Student Fashion & Design Week In Pictures

The highly publicised Nigerian Student Fashion And Design Week 2016 which was sponsored by Wema Bank took place on the 12th and 13th of August at the Indoor sports hall of the University of Lagos State and was a major success.

The 4th edition had close to 3000 guests in attendance over the two days and showcased 30 student designers who came from various higher institutions and fashion schools within and outside Nigeria.

NSFDW keeps getting bigger with each edition and its quite inspiring to see young people coming together to create such an amazing platform and watching the initiative grow over the years.

Noble Igwe, Ejiro Amos-Tafiri, Sola Babatunde, Shote Damilola (Exquisite Magazine), Nkem Jika (Complete Fashion Magazine) were on ground this year as judges. AshillaRosae graduate designer from the Osc College of Fashion emerged as the most creative designer, CECE from the University of Lagos emerged 1st runner up while Hym Signage from the University of Lagos emerged as the 2nd runner up.

Other showcasing designers were Jaymille Stafashion, Joseph Eric Men, Cece, Bada, Ebele, Native Spirit, Needle Point & Stitches, Lawal Ibrahim, Ripped, Joyce Ababio Fashion School Ghana, Classy Clothings, Imi Taj, Idyll Okunusi Couture, Asowumi, Ed-Pato, Amblac, De Beeblu, Le Shoks, Ebibide, Simon Trok, Valisimo Fashion,V-macdel, Suave, Hym Signage, Cadeau, JS Designs and Morete.

Other notable guests at the event were: Dj Spinall, Adunni Ade, Olumide Oworu, Wumi Oluwadare (Wumi O), Ayo Van Elmar amongst others. Zaron cosmetics was the official makeup partner while Myhair limited was the official hair partner.

The top three designers went home with SME packages courtesy Wema Bank, brand new sewing machine courtesy Zinsu Tech Nigeria Ltd, a 3 day intense training in couture finishing techniques with WumiO while the winner also got a cash prize courtesy Tolumi Fashion People, and sponsored showcase to the Africa Fashion Week Nigeria 2017 courtesy AFWL and a stocking deal with Xlente Shoppe.
