Karl Lagerfeld’s New Engagement Ring Designs Are Everything

Karl Lagerfeld’s recent project brought him to a certain product and clientele he’s not exactly familiar with: engagement rings for brides-to-be. Karl admits it was kind of a challenge because he had never done a ring for that occassion. He has entered into a licensing agreement with jeweler Frederick Goldman to distribute Karl Lagerfeld fine jewelry in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the U.K., the first collection of which debuts this fall and focuses on engagement rings for the millennial crowd.

The collection includes three distinct designs, the first of which is highlighted by pointed studs similar to the ones seen on many of the accessories in his eponymous line. The second style incorporates modern, geometric shapes, and the third is inspired by the curves and arches seen throughout Parisian architecture. All of the styles are offered in 18-karat white and yellow gold, as well as platinum, and prices start at $1,000, going up to $10,000.

According to  Lagerfeld, “the rings had to express something that concerns the heart and real feelings,” he further said that “It has to be a symbol and a sign of a real wish of engagement. It has to be elegant but not bling-bling.”

Below, an exclusive first look at Lagerfeld’s first-ever collection of brilliant but not too bling-y engagement rings.
