Model Crush: Ghana’s Oh Wawa is headed straight for the top

There are very few dark skinned models of African descent active in the international modelling circuit these days. It is bad enough that the list of modelling greats coming in to save the day for many a whitewashed runway is limited to Oluchi Orlandi, Alek Wek and Naomi Campbell. Thankfully, the Ghanaian model, Destiny Owusu, known to everyone as Oh Wawa is seeking to change that.

Born in Ghana and currently dividing her time between Ghana and the United States, Owusu came into prominence when she contested for the V Files Spring 15 model of the season. With three years of modelling behind her, endorsements from Italian powerhouses Dolce and Gabbana and collaborations with Ronke Raji and a feature in V Magazine, not to mention walking at New York Fashion Week, Owusu is definitely lit. These are some of our favorite pictures of her.
