Ofoe Amagavie and Stories of Near team up to showcase Ghanaian fashion

Remember Ghanaian photographer Ofoe Amegavie? The name might not immediately ring a bell but if you follow Ghanaian fashion, then you’ve definitely seen his work. We truly became enamoured by Amegavie when we saw the editorial work and accompanying fashion film for premium women’s wear label, Charlotte Prive GH. Now that was truly something original. How he was able to find the perfect location to help channel the label’s spring 16 Southern Antebellum vibe and that very left of field fashion film completely sold us.

If you haven’t seen it, here it is.

If that wasn’t enough for you, Amegavie has new work out. Partnering with the styling collective, Stories of Near, this new project has him photograph pieces from many of our favourite Ghanaian labels including Hazza, Charlotte Prive, Jermaine Blue and 1981 in an editorial with Leana Efia Apenteng to showcase the sheer scope of Ghanaian design. Stories of Near really brings home the bacon with the styling that speaks strongly to summer aesthetics with light cotton and linen fabrics and open sleeve coats. It is pretty awesome if you ask us, but don’t take our word for it, see for yourself.
