We like to think that old students of Queens College, Lagos will relate better to the pieces in this collection, especially considering they were lucky to have the first contact with it.

Inspired by the blue hues and cuts of her QC school uniform, womenswear designer Titi Belo revisits her youth with the ‘TITI BELO Wuz Ere’ collection, a theme that in itself reminds of the slogan that marks the final call on secondary education.

Creative Director, Titi Belo says “It began in the heart of Queen’s College, Lagos. The “Corridors” were our first Runways, The Dorm Rooms and “Corners” our first private presentation spaces. The girls our first muses.”

The most eye-catching pieces in the collection are the graphic tees worn over denim skirts and accesorized with customised belts that remind of that fashion trend of the early 2000s. While they express fun, playfulness and girl power, they also send a statement that is bound to reverberate among #QCOG. Titi Belo explains that “a slogan scribbled on a t-shirt could be a powerful statement in a school where conformity was required”.

According to her, ‘TITI BELO Wuz Ere’ is an exploration of those early reclamations of individuality and the place that inspired them and reclaiming both, through the medium of fashion.’
