Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty is one of TIME Magazine’s 25 Best Inventions of 2017

“I wanted things that girls of all skin tones could fall in love with”

Those were Rihanna’s words when she explained the approach to her famed 40-shade foundation collection that is part of her Fenty Beauty line. Now it looks like the line has gotten love from more than just girls of all skin tones.

TIME Magazine has listed Fenty Beauty as one of the 25 Best Inventions of 2017 making peculiar reference to its “40 shades of foundation and a diverse array of makeup models”.

Rihanna told TIME, “I never could have anticipated the emotional connection that women are having with the products and the brand as a whole. Some are finding their shade of foundation for the first time, getting emotional at the counter. That’s something I will never get over”.

True to her account, many women of colour have praised Rihanna and Fenty Beauty for delivering on its promise of inclusivity and especially helping to end their age-long struggle with finding a makeup shade that is perfect for them.

One of those women is Oscar award-winning actress, Viola Davis. In an interview with Refinery29, she said, “I don’t feel like I have to get something five shades lighter, or mix two shades together in order to get my shade. And it feels like my natural skin. It’s full coverage, and I’m honored by the fact that I’m recognized in this beauty line. I thank Rihanna for that.”

Yes, we all have Rihanna to thank.

And to think that she’s not nearly done. In less than a week, her STUNNA lip paint which honestly looks like the revolutionary red lipstick will be released to Sephora and Harvey Nichols. But here’s the thing: Rihanna says some of her favourite products aren’t even out yet.

Best believe, we weren’t ready for this. Work, girl!
