Model season is in: Nigeria’s Next Super Model is in its tenth year

It is almost unbelievable to think that its been ten seasons since Nigeria’s Next Super Model debuted. The showcase created by Joan Okorodudu (owner of the modelling agency Isis Models) has helped debut a number of successful editorial and runway models, including Queen Onyemaechi who won the 2014 showcase and went on to sign with Ford Models and walk at Milan Fashion Week.
On the heels of Elite Model Look Nigeria heralding 2016’s modelling season, Nigeria’s Next Super Model has just announced dates for it’s tenth season and asked for entries. This year is the second year that the contest is accepting applications from both men and women, leveling the playing field in one of the few industries where men make a tiny fraction of what the average female model gets. This kind of exposure for a male model is invaluable. We particularly like N.N.S.M has a bootcamp phase so literally models can walk off the street and get the necessary coaching to help them turn pro.

Registration has already begun and N.N.S.M is having some kind of early bird promotion, slashing two thirds of the application fee (from N5000 to N1,500). Plus they’ve digitized the payment process, which makes sense considering we’re no longer in the stone age. Regional screenings (sort of the opposite to the walk-in castings Few and Fowler Models have been having) will happen in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Owerri, Warri, Asaba, Enugu and Kaduna, on select dates that will be conveyed to successful contestants.

All the best guys.
