1. Break your fast: Skipping breakfast (the most important meal of the day)  would slow down your body’s metabolism rate. Prevent this by ensuring to eat breakfast.

2. Eat throughout the day: A consistent  blood sugar levels keeps your metabolism functioning properly – eating smaller meals and snacks helps prevent drastic drop in blood sugar level.

3. Drink Water: Studies show that drinking eight to 12 glasses of water per day helps burn more fat. It also keeps you feeling full which is a bonus if you’re trying to cut calories. Drink a glass of water upon waking. Eating fruits like watermelon, cucumber and pineapples are also great ways to eat your water.

4. Exercise for at least an hour: Studies has proved that an hour of exercise a day helps boost metabolism. Cardio exercises are king.

5. Stress less: Stress can greatly affect the speed of your metabolism, because if cortisol (the stress hormone) levels get too high, it inhibits your body’s ability to burn fat. Do something every day, especially before bed, to help you feel calm.
