Here are the campaign images for Chechi Arinze’s Spring 16 Editorial

Remember Chechi Arinze?

Considering how long she’s been in the industry and how many brushes she’s had with fame as a designer through the various fashion competitions she’s participated in, we’re surprised that more people don’t know who she is. Arinze had her latest brush with fame as part of the 2015 contingent of ’emerging’ designers chosen to show at the Lagos Fashion and Design Week under it’s Fashion Focus incubator programme.

We reviewed Arinze’s five look capsule collection here and spoke at length at how disappointing it was that she wasn’t putting her wealth of experience to bear and bringing something entirely new or at least well tailored to the table. Well Arinze has finally released the campaign images for the unabridged version of the collection she showed at LFDW, adding five more trend driven, contemporary pieces to the mix.

What she does offer with the extended collection is sadly more of the same and she substitutes interpreting the current off-shoulder trend for actually designing a cohesive collection with complementary looks/pieces. We’re still utterly unimpressed by all of it. Perhaps Arinze works better under the creative vision of someone else.
