Here’s the summer schedule for SA Menswear Week 2016

SA Menswear has quickly become one of our favourite showcases here at The Other Style because of tthe diverse offering of designers and many collaborations.  The showcase’s summer schedule for SA Menswear Week 2016/17 and finally puts to rest all the speculation on invited designers.

We’re totally chuffed to see all the Nigerian designers invited for the summer schedule have been given spots for the Fall schedule and hope that Mai Atafo shows this time around. It tells really badly on us when an invited designer passes on an opportunity like thatwith no previous warning, especially when spots are few and strongly contested.

Rich Mnisi is having his first high profile collaboration this season with a relative unknown Thebe Magugu, and we’re quite interested to see directions having a second pair of hands at the wheel will bring to the label’s aesthetic. Martin Kandinda and Mustapha Hassalani from Tanzania are also slated to showcase.

Other designers we cannot wait to see are Jenevieve Lyons, Chulaap by Chuchu Swannapha (he always brings the fire!) and Merwe Mode. We  also hope that Tokyo James redeems himself with a new summer collection and finally, finally lets go of the fur. We can only dream right?

Here’s the schedule in full below.
