Here’s your ultimate style guide for owambes

Owambes are our favourite kind of parties, and we say “kind of party”, because they are not just any party. Now before we get into this week’s style guide, you need to understand what kind of party qualifies as an owambe. Any party that serves steaming party jollof and has a live band playing juju/fuji music is an owambe.

To get the most out of the owambe experience. you’ll need to go through our style guide.

  1. Keep away the body cons and the crop tops or anything else that won’t look flattering on you after your second plate of food.
  2. Except the colour of the day or the asoebi is white, avoid wearing white, just in case you get caught in the middle of a fight for food, which is bound to happen at every owambe.
  3. If you didn’t buy asoebi, do your homework and find out the colours of the day before the party so that the waiters won’t pass you by, because trust us they’ve been instructed to do so.
  4. Make sure you are comfortable in what you are wearing, so you can dance however you like if the live band is fire (they always are).
