7 Nigerian brides reveal why they didn’t have sex on their wedding night

Couples are expected to have wild sex on their wedding night but do you know that least 25 percent of couples don’t even have sex on their wedding night, because they were too tired.

We rounded up these seven answers from seven newly wed Nigerian brides.

“My husband and I didn’t have sex on our wedding night because we were exhausted. Immediately we left the reception, we went straight home to sleep. I slept off with my make up and wedding gown on while hubstar slept with his shoes on. We consummated our love the next day.” — Bisola

“I was a virgin and it kinda felt awkward to be touched by him so we only did the basics, kissing and smooching. I was full of mixed emotions. I had finally gotten married!  I wanted to…but just couldn’t. It took me two days before I eventually gave in” — Chiamaka

“All we did that night was talk about the wedding. From how our mothers cried, to the jokes shared by the MC, our fun bridal party, what we liked and didn’t like, the long Pastor’s preaching, etc. There was just so much to talk about till we slept off in each other’s arms which was beautiful” — Ayoola

“My period happened so we couldn’t do nothing. I was so angry cos it is always heavy on my first and second day. It started when i went to change into my second wedding dress (a cream gown) for the reception, my ladies quickly swung into action..couldn’t even dance well at the reception to avoid getting stained. Immediately the closing prayer was said, Bobo and I dashed out to our hotel room, no extra dancing” – Jibike

“We practically argued through the night. I am not sure I remember what led to the argument but we argued and went to bed backing each other. We made up in the morning. We are stubborn like that” —Adanma

“My husband is a pastor and a prayer warrior. No kidding, we spent about two hours praying, we prayed into the middle of the night and by the time we were done, we were too tired to do anything” — Gloria

“We ate, drank, laughed and slept off” — Cynthia
