Rihanna will be hosting + everything else we know about the 2018 Met Gala

We bet Rihanna’s glam team have officially begun to put together an earth-stopping look for her 2018 Met Gala outing. If we’re right, then that would be in order as she will be hosting the event alongside Amal Clooney and Donatella Versace.

Remember her Comme des Garçon petal gown for the 2017 MET Gala?

Vogue made the announcement earlier on Wednesday that three women, who happen to be some of the most fashionable people in the world, will be taking up hosting duties carried out by Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady at the last edition.

The 2018 Met Gala theme was also revealed as “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”. Highlighting the convergence between faith and fashion, Vogue writes that the show is “designed to create a dialogue between fashion and the masterworks of religious art in the museum’s holdings”.

Pieces by Coco Chanel, Donatella Versace, John Galliano, “the papal garb on loan from the Sistine Chapel sacristy, many of which have never been seen outside the Vatican” are some of the 150 ensembles that will be displayed at the shows in what Vogue describes as the “trinity of locations”.

The Met’s gallery, the Anna Wintour Costume Center, and the Met’s branch, The Cloisters will be open from May to October for the public to experience “the Heavenly Bodies”. The 2018 Met Gala will hold at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on 30 April.

We clearly cannot wait to see how celebrities bring this year’s theme to life and our eyes are especially on Rihanna.
