Ruby without the Woo: 5 cheaper lipsticks that give you that red pop

We all love Ruby Woo, our wallets on the other hand not so much.

Here are 5 cheaper lipsticks that you can get here, which give you that red ruby woo pop we all love.

  1. Wet ‘n’Wild Stoplight Red
You can get the Wet ‘n’ Wild Stoplight Red for just 1,500 on Jumia, which is about a quarter of the price of Ruby Woo. It’s not quite as matte as Ruby Woo, but their red shades are pretty identical. For me this is the best Ruby Woo dupe you can get. My only problem with it was that it didn’t quite last as long as the Ruby Woo, but for 1,500 I can definitely live with that.

  2. Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick in Kiss of Life
I haven’t tried this one yet, but it looks super dry for those who are really into the matte look. I found it for 5,000 here, which makes it hardly cheaper than the Ruby Woo (about 5,500/6,000 now). Anyway it looks just as good (even better in my opinion). I am still scouting for where to get a better bargain.DSC_0048
  3. Revlon’s Really Red Matte
I love this lipstick, I got it as a gift and was surprised at how much it looked like Ruby Woo. Sadly I haven’t been able to find it in any of our local stores, but I found it here for $9, which is about 2,500 now. It’s just as red as Ruby Woo, but doesn’t feel as dry when I am applying it, which has always been my problem with Ruby Woo. Ordering it is always a hassle, so please let us know if you’ve seen it at any of our local stores.
  4. Classic Pure Matte Lipstick (Ruby Woo)
So this one is an outright knockoff (they even had the cheek to name it Ruby Woo), and not a very good one at that. The only comments I have on it are that it is sha matte (sort of), and it is red, so you can actually get away with wearing it out on a very dark night. You can get it for just 1,000 here, and apparently even cheaper on the streets.

  5. Milani Colour Statement Lipstick, Red Label
This isn’t quite as matte as Ruby Woo, although it has a nice dry finish, and it’s also a slightly different shade of red. But it has its own nice red pop, its long lasting and its just 2,000 here.
