There are only a handful of luxury accessories labels in Nigeria, and even less accessible accessories brands. So Efe Johnson Igbinovia’s Seventeen 02 is a much welcome entry into the market. The label’s new Spring 16 collection, ‘the Alpha (fe)male’ introduces the designer’s take on much loved women’s wear and menswear accessories.
The label’s repertoire consists of handmade leather briefcases, shoes, belts and a nifty reversible hexagonal bowtie. The most impressive of the label’s pieces are its suitcases; particularly the duo toned leather carry briefcase, slanted piping across its edges. The label’s shoes are also quite impressive, the attention to detail in finishing and the variety of styles give much needed options to potential buyers.
As an aside it is great to see Myever Akinyele in front of a camera again, with Uju Marshall no less. This combination helps bring to life even the inaccessible pieces of the collection. We’re utterly sold on this.
