When I got the call from @funkebucknor to make portraits for her 40th all I could think of was a human trampoline.
Funke has this raw, unstoppable and BIIIG energy. And all the time, always on the go; Always doing something new with supercharged joy. And she’s always been this way. There is absolutely no one like ‘Boh-Kee’.
So I imagined these images of her all up in mid-air, every single frame. But I also know a different side to her- Her strong, pure and beautiful spirit. If you know her well then you know what I’m talking about.
I wanted to explore that side; toning things down a bit and showing a beauty and calm many don’t get to see. This was such a fun shoot. My first time working with @bubuogisi and we must do this again!
As always @bimpeonakoya and @tasalahq rocked it. Funke, you’ve brought so much joy to so many people. May your 40th mark the beginning a beautiful harvest for everything your heart yearns for.
