There is nothing more annoying or embarrassing than having dandruff, especially when you make it snow all over your body each time you run a comb through your hair, no matter how often you wash and oil it.
A lot of hairdressers have come up with myths as to why we get dandruff, I’ve heard everything from, it’s people with long or full hair to it being hereditary. Well it has nothing to do with your genes, or the length and texture of your hair. It does however have everything to do with, the fact that your scalp is too dry.
- Tea tree oil is very effective for people with dry scalp, add a bit to both your shampoo and conditioner or use it after each wash. After a couple of weeks of use, your dandruff problem will be solved.
- If you are not a fan of tea tree oil, or can’t seem to lay your hands on any in the stores, you could try a hot oil treatment with any of your regular naturals oils like coconut or jojoba oil. Just pop it in the microwave, and heat it up for a bit make sure it’s not too hot so you don’t scald you scalp. Divide your hair into parts and apply it. let it sit for a while before shampooing and conditioning.
- Egg masks are another great way for your scalp to get the moisture it needs to prevent dandruff from occurring. Using egg masks can be messy, so make sure you do it in the bathroom and shampoo and condition your hair thoroughly after.
