#tosweddings Love strory It was the last quarter of 2011. I had recently completed my first degree and just relocated to Edinburgh for my Master’s program. It was a small town, and Edinburgh Tabernacle came highly recommended by my uncle who lived in the town. It was a small church in a small town, so everyone knew everyone. It was one big happy family, so as you would imagine, I couldn’t stay unknown for too long. I liked the people at Edinburgh Tabernacle. They were very kind, and warmed up to me. They made me feel at home and welcome to their family. It wasn’t at all a difficult decision to continue worshipping at the church. As time went on, I noticed a guy who was doing a very poor job of stealing glances at me. Poor because I kept on catching him. I wondered when he would finally grow the nerve to say something more than “hello and hi”. Fast forward to January 2012. As was customary, the church organized a breakfast session for its members who were still single to connect. I woke up that morning contemplating whether or not to go, as I felt, at the time, that a lot of such events were cliché. I decided to go since it would afford me the opportunity to get to know the other members better, besides I was still fairly new in the city and could do with a few more friends. On arriving, a guy, (who turned out to be very good friends with the “glancer” J) beaconed on me to please join their table (little did I know he was just an errand boyJ). I obliged him and joined their table. He immediately initiated a conversation, we got talking and shortly after, along came Kido. It appeared the empty sit on my other side had be carefully reserved for him (a well mapped out plan, I must admit). As soon as he settled in, he wasted no time at all, turned to me and said “Hi, my name is Kido and you are the only reason I’m here for this breakfast session today”. I was so shy and stunned at how “straight-to-the-point” he was (egbami o). He did a very good job of making sure I was comfortable and I had everything I wanted from the buffet. In typical “Naija babe” style, I decided to maximize this rare opportunity. I made him go to the buffet point over three
