Last September, Chidimma and Chidiebere, a Chemist/Engineer and Physician had a beautiful cathedral wedding which the bride exclaims was a truly amazing day.
We brought you highglights from the wedding as it happened, but we now have the full details and photos.
“It was an all-day affair that started in a beautiful cathedral. From there, we took our 22-person bridal party on a mini-tour of Atlanta, taking pictures along the way. In the evening, we danced and celebrated our union with family and friends. We were blessed to have good music, good food, flowing drinks and lots of love and support!” the bride said.

Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal!
We met in Baltimore, MD, after his sister friended me on Facebook and proceeded to tell him that she’d met his wife. He friended me on Christmas day, and he happened to be in town. We met up briefly that evening at a neutral location and have talked everyday since then.
In September of 2014, he took me to the beach in Oregon for my birthday. He filled the day with lots of fun activities. We finally got to our hotel room, which was decorated with rose petals. He walked into the room after me, and when I turned around, he was on one knee!
Wedding Style
I shopped with my sister and a different group of my closest girlfriends each weekend for three weeks. When I saw my dress in a little boutique in Alexandria, VA, I literally thought it walked out of my dream. It was love at first sight!
Culture
We are both Igbo so we did the majority of our traditional Igbo celebration in 2014. Nonetheless, our Igbo tradition was laced throughout the wedding ceremony and the reception. We also completed our “Wine-Carrying” ceremony during our reception. This is where the bride brings wine to her husband. He drinks the wine and follows her back to her father, who then prays over the new couple.
Memories
One of my best ones was during the homily of our ceremony. There was so much singing and laughter from all our guests! It was such a great way to start our life together.
