Interior Living™, unveiled as Nigeria’s leading minimalist interior design company, launched its studio on Saturday, May 21st, 2016, in a serene creativity-enhancing environment within the bustling metropolis of Lagos. The space houses several offices, an exhibition space, an art shop, a workshop, and a kitchenette.
According to Bakare, the business was inspired by a combination of passion, skill and the need to channel creative expression. Since then, it has been further boosted by a market demand for her elegant touch. After over two years of high level engagement with the industry amid launching top-notch interior design solutions from the virtual platform, the company has taken greater strides by setting up its stimulating space and is set to become the foremost culturally-aware interior design company in Africa, building visions, unlocking dreams, one door at a time.
A taste of the company’s mission was experienced at the launch with exhibitions of eras and civilizations, symbolically laid out like the transiting pages of a history book. From portraits of the visionary’s first artistic inspiration, her praying grandmother, to a minimalist depiction of age-long commonly used household items all sprayed in white, and a modern portrayal of comfort and class, the space retells a story through time.
A gigantic caged lighting system, nicknamed Starburst, constructed by the Interior Living™ (IL) team, adorned the modern living space climaxing a fractal directional system. With this, IL announced its value proposition which is, to carve the phenomenal out of the familiar thereby optimizing identity and influencing civilization.
Through their innovative design techniques, they are poised to surpass industry standards as they remodel culture, redesign space and redefine time within the built environment.
