Celine
The mood for the brand’s 2016 fall/winter season was pretty much relaxed. It featured slouchy staples including long vests, menswear shirts with defined collars and loose trousers paired with turtleneck or oversized sweater in serene hues of black, ivory, khaki and yellow.
Balenciaga
This show featured a series of plaid looks featuring structured shapes and boxy shoulders paying special recognition to Cristóbal Balenciaga’s noted tailoring and architectural shapes. The designer focused on wardrobe essentials for his first outing—a leather jacket, denim jacket, mid-length skirt, trench coat, dress shirt–all made an appearance in shrunken and enlarged proportions and with dresses, the designer sent out a number of designs which looked like several pieces sewn together and paired with candy cane striped stockings for a rag doll look.
Mugler
Leather dresses featuring body-hugging silhouettes and strips in place of skirts were centre stage in Mugler’s collection this season. Color-blocked satin skirts with asymmetrical cut is the new Mugler anthem.
Ellie Saab
From fringe vests to boxy jackets, tiered lace, ruffles and floral embroideries all for evening wear, the Saab woman is one word: Glam.
