The Wana Sambo monthly blogger edit has become one of our favourite periodicals for three reasons.
It is making major use of digital platforms which by now, everyone is starting to realise as the future of fashion. It is showing that a brand can successfully promote it’s designs without having to conform to the restrictive fashion calendars (that do not work in the tropics anyway). And finally, it is partnering with bloggers and putting them on an bigger platform.
This month for the W.S Blogger edit, the brand decides to take the love continental, partnering with Tosin (Tostos) Alexandriah Sho-Silva, a graduate of design and much acclaimed blogger. Alexandriah’s blog Style By Alexandria has become one of the biggest blogs by a Nigerian blogger, garnering her several high profile collaborations with brands in the country. This is also the first shoot that takes place out of the country (London to be exact) suggesting that Wana Sambo may have gone global.
Alexandriah Sho-Silva wears the Gloria two piece. Made with cotton/polyester blend textured fabric, the Gloria blouse and skirt can be worn on and off the shoulder and as separates, but paired together they create an interesting outfit with high volume and lots of drama. The colour blocked skirt also makes quite the statement, both with colours and asymmetry. A definite need in every savvy girl’s wardrobe.
