Omu Resort has announced the maiden edition of its annual Omu Resort Food Festival themed ‘Explore Your Taste Buds’, premiering this year.
Omu Resort is the premier family destination resort within the State.
Scheduled to run from December 23 to 24, 2017, the annual event marks Omu Resort’s first season of celebrating diverse culinary experiences in Nigeria.
“The food festival is about celebrating Nigeria’s diversity through food and culture while also showcasing the food & culture of visitors to Nigeria,” says Moji Ibhaze, AGM, Omu Resort.
Lagos, the centre of excellence, has been the business habitat for both Nigerians across state and expatriates as a whole.
The food festival would be featuring a culturally diverse menu consisting of Chinese, Continental, Senegalese, Nigerian and Indian foods.
“Lagos is home to so many ethnic groups, not just Nigerians but several international groups with presence in Nigeria dating back so many decades.
“You have the Chinese, the Indians, Senegalese, Ghanaians, Beninois, Igbos, Hausas, Yorubas, South Africans etc. It is about celebrating Christmas together,” he said.
The event aims to “bring different cultures (including food and dances) together”, he continued, “Guests will learn about different cultures not just their foods”.
The activities featuring at the event include Traditional dances, the food festival as well as the various activities the resort has to offer.
The resort is home to 21 attractions including a zoo consisting animals ranging from lion, hyenas, giraffes, ostriches, etc. and activities such as quad biking, kayaking, go-carting, sea world, a water park, blade skating, paint balling, amongst others.
“We have attractions other people run as single businesses in one place and at affordable rates.”
“We are expanding the frontiers of tourism in Nigeria by adding this food festival while also celebrating our unity and diversity.”
“We pride ourselves in saying Omu Resort is a place where fond memories are served daily.
“We hope participants go away with fond memories of the festival.”
Of course other guests can still come to the resort without having to be part of the festival.
The food festival is slated to hold from Decemeber 23-24 and will be taking place at the Omu Resort premises in bogije town, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
