Is waxing really as horrible as people make it out to be?

Waxing seems to be the solution to every single problem that comes with hair removal. From ingrown hairs to shaving bumps, waxing is pretty much the answer to all your prayers. The only problem is that it supposedly hurts more than getting burned, and so people try to avoid it, opting for alternate methods of hair removal like shaving and hair removal creams, which are not as effective.

The argument the brave women who opt to wax wherever needs to be, is that not only does the hair grow out slower, causing  you to wax not nearly as often as you would shave, it also takes the burden of grooming off their hands and even when you have to do it yourself, the results are cleaner.

The argument for the women who don’t, is that nothing could be worth that amount of pain.

But just how painful is waxing?

The truth is, it all depends on your threshold of pain, some people have very low thresholds and a pin prick could feel like the end of the world to them.

There are also several other factors to consider. Is it your first time? If it is, then it’ll hurt way worse than your subsequent visits. The length of the hair should also be considered, it’s usually more painful when it’s longer so a quick trim is advisable before getting waxed. Be sure not to trim it too short, the wax won’t be able to hold on to hairs that are too short.

Happy waxing.
