17 year old Angolan model and fresh face Amilna Estevao has made quite a few strides in the modelling industry. Since she was discovered at fourteen, winner of the Elite Model Look competition in her native country in 2013 she has gone to conquer the industry, joining the new wave of unconventional black models like Ajak Deng and Aamito Lagum to redefine what it means to beautiful and African. In the last year alone she has worked with several internationally revered brands, and on editorials for several international magazines, and even fronted an ad campaign.
Here she is, smouldering for Roland Mouret Spring Summer 16’s runway show.
And then she was one of the few black girls who walked post Alber Elbaz’s exit for Lanvin.
She pounded the runway for Kenzo.
Was a punk princess for Giambattista Valli.
And then did it all over again for fashion darling Fausto Puglisi.
And again for Luxury giant Hermes.
Here she smoulders for Vogue Germany.
And is le femme sportif for Harper’s Bazaar US.
and a siren shod in sheer for Numero Magazine.
And topped out the year right beside Cara Delevigne in Yves Saint Laurent’s latest Perfume ad campaign.
But what is she like as a person amidst all of the critical and commercial success?
From this short clip we found of her produced by the New York Times Magazine, just like you and me.
