A lot of ladies have complained to us, about how facial masks do not seem to work for them as well as most beauty reviews lead them to believe. Especially after our review on the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay mask, which still remains one of the best facial masks we’ve ever come across especially when it’s used with apple cider vinegar instead of water to make the paste for the mask. If you tried out the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay mask or any other facial mask a couple of times with absolutely no results, here’s where you are getting it all wrong.
You can’t slap on your facial mask a couple of minutes before hopping in the shower, and expect it to work properly. Firstly masks can’t be used like scrubs and washes, you shouldn’t use it everyday for starters and most people don’t have the luxury of time to indulge in the process it takes to use masks correctly.
Before putting on your mask, wash or cleanse your face first to get rid of any oil or dirt on it, you can follow that up by exfoliating but that’s really optional, since you already used a wash and most masks have exfoliating properties. Steam your face after washing nit, to open up the pores and let the mask really get into them to work its magic. Don’t leave your mask on for too long, thirty minutes is the maximum time any facial mask should be left on your face. Follow these steps the next time you are using a mask, if you don’t already and you’ll immediately notice an improvement with your facial skin
