Ivorien designer Yale Woody’s ‘Eloha’ collection which we reviewed here has finally made it’s Ghanaian debut at the 2016 Accra Mens Fashion Week. We wrote about the ease of the collection, the elements we liked (the design label’s choice to use tie closures for it’s casual pants in place of zip and button closures), the ease of the cuts and the designer’s interesting inspirations for the collection.
We’re happy to see the collection make the runway debut rounds across West Africa alongside interesting Iviorien labels like Barros Coulibaly (with whom Yale Woody’s shares similarities in fabric choices and construction aesthetics).
It is great to see English speaking West African buyers embrace Fracophone fashion and its distinct aesthetics to favorable reviews and hope to see the label gain the attention and commercial success it deserves.
Congratulations, Yale Woody.
