From Lagos to Port Harcourt, an awkward meeting and NYSC – Sandra & Nkem

bbWhen we featured Sandra’s extravagant bridal shower the other day, we promised to bring you photos from her wedding, so here we go!

Sandra Wokocha and Nkem Obasi got married in Lagos two weekends ago after dating for about four years.

Their love story:

They met on January 3, 2011 at Nkem’s birthday.

Obasi’s cousin hooked up the two of them via BBM (BlackBerry Messenger), and at the time, she lived in Port Harcourt while he lived in Lagos.

They got talking and became friends. Months later, they met for the first time when he travelled to Port Harcourt for his sister’s wedding.

According to Sandra, the meeting was so awkward and there was no spark at all, and it was clear that they weren’t really into each other at that time. However, they got talking and kept in touch thereafter.

The second time they met in Lagos, they decided to get serious and go beyond just friendship. It was like they were meeting for the first time.

They had a long distance relationship for a year and a half. Though it wasn’t all rosy, but they pulled through. Thereafter, she moved to Lagos for her NYSC (National Youth Service Corps) and started to plan her life with him.

Proposal story:

The marriage proposal took place on her birthday in October 2014, when he went to visit her in Port Harcourt to celebrate the day with her and friends.

After breakfast, he asked her to marry him while their friends took pictures of the golden moments and cheered happily.
