Mayowa Nicholas is anti-establishment for Wall Street Journal February 2016

Nigerian born model Mayowa Nicholas has just scored her first major editorial of 2016. She appears for the Wall Street Journal alongside Julie Hooman for it’s February 2016 issue. Sporting looks from Alexander Wang, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Celine and Jeremy Scott with styling by Ondine Azoulay, Mayowa Nicholas and Hooman channel English punk sensibilities with a shot of sangfroid on the streets of London.

Wearing slitted kilts, sheer slip dresses and distressed leather jackets both girls stalk the streets of a London surburb for photographer Matteo Montanari.

This is Nicholas second major international breakthrough in 2016, she already landed a coveted cover spot in Jeremy Scott’s Spring 2016 Moschino editorials. Since she won the Elite Model Look competition in Nigeria in 2014, she has become one of Nigeria’s most successful model exports, with several magazine features and editorials to her name. Landing high profile editorials are the meat of the modelling industry as runway shows, while great for instant fame and building a rapport with designers doesn’t pay half as much as a good editorial. We hope that more comes her way.
