Purple symbolises royalty and Lupita Nyong’o was dressed in the most gorgeous shade of it at the premiere of Marvel’s most-anticipated superhero movie, Black Panther.
The 34-year-old matched the purple carpet in a flowing, custom-made gown by Atelier Versace. The dress features heavy embellishing on the waist, shoulder and necks with gold detailing that runs through the chest.
Styled by Micaela Erlanger, who has been Lupita’s stylist for a long time, she paired the dress with a custom Versace clutch and Guiseppe Zanotti shoes. Erlanger told The Hollywood Reporter that the look gives a “nod to Lupita’s warrior character, Nakia”.
Lupita wore her hair in a long, narrow bun that pays homage to her African descent and sported minimal makeup with plum lip colour.
