Dakore Akande, Lala Akindoju, Toke Makinwa | Our 5 best red outfits at The Royal Hibiscus Hotel premiere

The dress code was Valentine red.

With an intense theme already in play, the guests did a fantastic job of working up even more intense drama with fiery red dresses.

Our top 5 picks wore their red in fabolous shades and matched their dresses with gorgeous accessories and hairdos that took our breaths away.

Best dressed 1:

Lala Akindoju literally shimmered through the carpet in a floorlength, longsleeved dress with a ruched shoulder from Enthyst Fashion Klinik. In a never-before-seen manner, Lala wore her hair in a pixie cut and settled for nude makeup that calmed the entire tone of the outfit.

Best dressed 2:

Upcoming womenswear designer, Fablane by Derin brought her A-game on at the premiere with her own outfit, Mimi Onalaja’s and this striking one seen on Ini Dima-Okojie. The midlength dress featured one flowing sleeve that also passes for a droolworthy train and a large red rose that sat gorgeously on Ini’s shoulder.

Best dressed 3:

Dakore Akande wore the Hadiza maxi dress by Imad Eduso and although we had seen this outfit many times before, the actress compelled us to love it even more. With her red box clutch, three-tiered earrings and her natural hair bun that sat tilted with poise, Dakore gave us an eyecatcher that will long be in our remembrance.

Best dressed 4:

Toke Makinwa stole the show in a fit-for-a-princess dress by South African designer, Gert Johan Coetzee. The heavily embellished dress featured a thigh-high slit and a plain fabric train attached to its waist. Toke chose a tiny earring as her only accessory and a glittery, strappy sandal to go.

Best dressed 5:

This dress by Dubai couture designer, Galia Fahd was by far our best from last night. Emelia Jane looked like Barbie, a real life princess and a bride all in one. She paired it with silver accessories and opted for a side-swept hairdo. Way to go!
