Quophi Akoutuah’s look book for his debut collection ‘Adwoa Pyncrah’ is gorgeous

Quophi Akoutuah, the emerging Ghanaian design label had it’s official debut at the Kumasi Fashion Week, debuting a womenswear collection that was heavy on the tulle but provided interesting proportions and silhouettes. It was one of the better collections presented at the showcase and signified Akoutuah as one of the labels to watch out of Ghana in the coming years.
The label has released an editorial lookbook for the collection, showing a more tightly curated catalogue of. A good number of the clothes on the runway still make it into the finished catalogues but a number of the ultra thin tulle dresses are taken out, an inspired decision if you ask us. The collection is named for and inspired by the designer’s elder sister Adwoa Pyncrah and its extensive beading and cut out keep it fresh and contemporary. Peplums, lace and African inspired lace come together to create a beautiful collection.
