Rihanna, Katy Perry, Solange and others that schooled us on how to attend the Met Gala

The 2017 Met Gala just held and all the stars showed up in head-turning looks, some unforgettable, some out-of-this-world and others just not up to standard.

The theme for this year’s event was Comme des Garcons in honour of Japanese designer, Rei Kawajubo who is known for cutting-edge designs.

Apparently, not everyone was out to please but those who came with the theme in mind, made statements that will not be forgotten anytime soon in red carpet history.

Rihanna was the biggest stunner of the night. She wore a Comme des Garcons 3D outfit (because calling it a dress is just inappropriate) and although we still can’t figure out what the outfit is about, we think she totally nailed the theme. Rihanna paired the look with  red strappy heels that ties all the way up to her thighs. We’ll be talking about Rihanna’s look for the next one year until she shows at the 2018 event with another killer look, considering she did the same last year.

Katy Perry‘s look was every shade of extra. She was wearing a red Margiela Artisinal creation by designer, John Galliano. The tulle and chiffon dress came with a veil in the same colour. We definitely didn’t see Katy coming like this…

Just look at Ruth Negga‘s silver Marchesa outfit…

We can argue that Solange Knowles‘s outfit was made out of trash bags but we’ll let it be. It’s Solange.

Pharrell Williams‘ wife, Helen Lasichanch wore a tomato-red onesie that stood out next to her husband in his Comme des Garcons ripped Jeans, plaid shirt and leather jacket.
