Nigerian born model Ola Morafa is another bubbling under model finally getting that much deserved come up. Following on the heels of Nneoma Anosike, Mayowa Nicholas, Moyin Arowoshola and Victor Ndigwe, Morafa is part of a new crop of Nigerian born and discovered models making serious waves in the international modelling world.
Morafa recently made his Paris Fashion Week runway debut walking for Ricardo Tisci’s Givenchy show in Paris, the kind of French debut that most models only dream about, especially models of colour who are often overlooked for Caucasian models, and he was one of the distinctive looks.
Our debut remains a masterpiece #Givenchy #Gang #TeamTisci #Tb 🇫🇷

But even more importantly, across the pond in the United States, Morafa has been chosen to front the new advertising campaign for retail giant Barney’s New York. This is important for two reasons; first it is much harder to score editorial campaigns for retailers who are more picky about marketability than it is to score style editorials for designers.
Second, Morafa was chosen to singlehandedly front the campaign; rare considering Barney’s is partial to using several models for it’s editorial campaigns. It’s totally amazing and we are in awe.
Congratulations Ola Morafa, only big things await you.
