Kaduna based modest fashion label, House of Kaya has just put out the editorial campaign for it’s debut collection ‘Arewa Diamond’. Run by Ibrahim Aminu, House of Kaya is well known in Northern Nigeria for its bespoke bridal wear and is critically acclaimed for its work. The label was chosen as one of the top 16 emerging brands for the 2015 Lagos Fashion and Design Week and was the only modest fashion label to present at the showcase.
We reviewed the collection earlier in the year here, and were quite impressed with the deftness of the brand considering this was it’s first time venturing into ready to wear.
We love the editorial; the Arewa symbol hung behind the models is an important reminder that fashion exists and thrives outside Lagos and the beautiful headwraps and turbans show that the label stays strong in its modest fashion aesthetic and proves that Nigerian labels can be modest and luxurious.
We anticipate their next collection quite eagerly.
