Everyone knows that the very pinnacle of fashion for a model, sans being endorsed by Karl Lagerfeld himself to headline a Chanel campaign, is to get a coveted spot in Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s bi-annual editorial extravaganza. This year, Dolce and Gabbana is changing things up by adding Nigerian born model Mayowa Nicholas to the summer line up.
Nicholas, already in her third season (she won the 2014 Elite Model Look Nigeria competition and began working that very season,) has already featured in beauty and fashion editorials for Moschino and Jeremy Scott as well as features in US Vogue, but this editorial finally stamps her bonafides as a model that can sell clothes on any part of the continent.
Congratulations Mayowa.
But the good news isn’t just restricted to Nicholas, Olamide Ogundele, the golden girl of Few Modelling agency just got international representation. You’ll remember that earlier this year, Ogundele signed with Boss Models South Africa to represent her outside of Nigeria on the continent. Her new deal with WhyNotModels Milan will see the Milan fashion circuit open up to her. Great things ahead.
