On the heels of a concessionary deal with Shop MeiDei, Fruche the fashion brand helmed by Lagos Fashion and Design Week Fashion Focus alum, Frank Aghuno is expanding it’s repertoire with a new collaboration with Isis model Peter Finn. For the new collaboration, Aghuno is collaborating with Fred Aghuno, creative director of the alternative street wear brand, Stick Man (and Aghuno’s twin brother) for a series of hand painted menswear looks.
The three look editorial sees the label debut never seen before pieces that did not make the Spring 16 Nkeiruka collection, including hand painted shirt and short cords, a lipstick men’s play suit with pleat detailing on the torso and a glamorous clavicle brooch. There is also a third look, a muted grey shirt and pant combo made from the same material.
This introduces a side to the brand that we’ve never seen, the ability to pull off concept driven collaborations much like the Ekemini collection that catapulted designer Ituen Basi to fashion’s stratosphere.
We will watch to see if the designer chooses to flesh out this idea into a full on collection. It is probably very idea intensive but with the right target audience, will be definitely worth the extra hassle.
