SUPAMODEL! Mayowa Nicholas smoulders for Ungaro Resort 17

Is there a model of colour in international fashion busier than Mayowa Nicholas right now?

We seriously doubt it.

In only her third season, Nicholas has garnered a litany of achievements, enough to make even a casual observer of fashion beam in pride.

Just two weeks ago she was announced as part of the Dolce and Gabbana Fall 16 campaign, a few weeks after walking for them at fashion week, becoming the first Nigerian model to star in a campaign of that magnitude. Then just a week later, Nicholas was announced the face of the Saint Laurent Paris Fall 16 campaign, the first Nigerian model to earn that honour too. And now, here she is again, fronting the editorial campaign for french Fashion house Emmanuel Ungaro’s Resort 17 collection.

Three of the biggest European fashion editorials within a short time frame is no mean feat, and Nicholas delivers on each one, her ease and fresh faced beauty shining through. Ungaro’s bent for volume, asymmetry and unconventional prints play heavily into the aesthetic of this collection which is clean and polished, but also very formal. We love the exaggerated pleats and the gathered ruching, the mismatched fabrics and the daring necklines. He is brilliant as always.

Again, congratulations Mayowa, the world is your runway.
