Temi Odetola hosts African tea in ankara

Temi, fashion blogger and daughter of billionaire oil magnate, Femi Odetola, is teaming up with British agency Black Pepper London to organize a fashion panel during London Fashion Week called, Afternoon Tea in Ankara (ATIA) on Saturday 27th February 2016

Temi  Odetola has only been a professional fashion blogger for two years but she has managed to gain a lot of attention in that time, working with the Lagos Fashion and Design Week team during its last showcase in 2015. This event will see Temi extend the channels she has to other young hopeful seeking to make headway into competitive fashion.

As the host of African Tea In Ankara, Otedola will try to highlight African fashion in the global fashion community and foster a community of British based young African creatives seeking inroads into fashion. Recently featured in British Vogue as well as enjoying an ambassadorship endorsement from the Lagos Fashion and Design Week, securing Otedola’s endorsement might prove beneficial to emerging brands.

The event will include discussions from a panel of key influencers in the industry, discourses on how to develop your online presence, an opportunity to network with creatives and of course a tantalising twist on the concept of afternoon tea. More so than anything, ATIA seeks to combat the issues of diversity still encroaching the fashion industry; merging the two cultures together in such a dynamic way provides a perfect platform from which to do so.

Here’s how to apply:

  1. Create a short video (no longer than two minutes) explaining why you should be chosen for the event. Alternatively you may compose a brief personal statement exploring your desire to attend.
    2. Send entries to [email protected]
    3. Follow up by heading to your social media account with a post using the caption ‘Get Into Fashion Now @jtofashion #ATIA2016 (on Twitter AND Instagram)

Only thirty applicants will be selected for a seat at ATIA so make sure you are concise and specific (application ends on Friday 19th 2016.
