We have to admit, younger Nigerian designers have been hitting it out the park with finding ways to engage a newer, younger consumer base to their labels via social media. Tayo Ilesanmi’s T.I Nathan has been at the forefront of this, from his days with Fayrouz L’Original and LFDW after. He’s done it again with his new editorial in celebration of veteran Nigerian actor and performer, Richard Mofe Damijo. RMD recently gained a lot of attention in line with the new ‘Dad Bod’ fad that has hit fashion, where older men are admired for their ‘perceived youthfulness’. So between the actor’s current appeal and Ilesanmi’s clothes, lies pure PR gold.
The editorial sees the actor model a number of T.I Nathan designs in several scenarios. It also sees Ilesanmi reunite with Leylarh Cardne, part of the Fayrouz L’Original team that won the inaugural competition. We particularly love the ingeniousness and synergy of this campaign. More please, more.
