Emerging designer Elizabeth Divine, established in 2012 has primarily concerned itself with creating premium pret-a-porter clothing. It has created clothes for women who prefer classic femininity and only dabble in trends when they work towards their natural inclinations. The brand is also working on a bespoke high end line for its customers. With ultrafeminine silhouettes and an attention to detailing you only find in the best of brands, it came out the hatches ready to race to the top.
Their new collection continues in this vein, shedding the dark earthen tones of its Fall 2015 collection, Elizabeth Divine sheds the layers, offering a simpler, cleaner silhouette done in a brilliant white and summer heavy floral prints.
Peplums are a strong theme in the new collection, appearing in skirts, adding volume to blouses and a bit of jazz to hems and sleeves. It also employs sheer fabric, creating the provocative illusion of sensuality in otherwise demure dresses. But not everything is short and flirty. The brand throws in a few wide leg high waisted jersey pants and cowled jersey sweaters for the women who isn’t eager to bare skin just yet.
But the real star of the collection is the superior tailoring of the collection, we’d dare say on par with mega brand CLAN DIARIES. With Elizabeth Divine and Omowunmi Akinnifesi’s Omowumi AK joining the fray for the premium pret-a-porter crown, we might finally get some experimentation from the brand.
