Like play, like play, na so the Lagos State Access Bank Marathon take waka come. We’ve all been in the gym, working out that flab, increasing our endurance and pumping those weights so we can run on Saturday the 6th of February. Or at least stand by the road, looking sporty while the real Access Bank marathoners run past us (who knows where bae will come from? Valentine’s day is just a week away).
But what most of us haven’t quite decided on is what to wear for this important event. Well, let us help you out.
Created by Lilian Unachukwu, TigerLily is the first African owned sportswear label that creates shape wear and support clothing for women focusing on gym wear for the bodies of women of colour. Made from breathable fabric (jersey, airtex mesh and lurex mesh) Tiger Lily sportswear marries functionality with fit and breathability, ensuring that their pieces stay fashionable while they’re at it. Their range includes sports bras, yoga pants, track pants and support vests. With a concessionary deal with fashion retailer Mei Dei and an online store, Tigerlily gym wear is one of the most accessible niche brands in Nigeria.
If you’re not going to be running or marathoner watching, then you can do what we did, and find out a bit more about Lilian. Unachukwu sat down with the people over at Pulse TV and told them all about the things that make her tick. Smart and in-shape, talk about a super bae.
To shop the pieces, go to their site here, or visit MeiDei at New3 Old6 Ogbunike street, Lekki, Lagos.
