Believe it or not, Lagos is not Nigeria’s only fashion hub.
The Niger Delta is getting in on the game with the inaugural Port Harcourt Fashion Festival. Created to celebrate the sheer scope and reach of fashion and accessories in Port Harcourt and give its designers, retailers and fashion adjacent practitioners a single platform to network, interact and find a new base of customers, PFF might be the kind of push we need to look outside Lagos for fashion inspiration.
the event will set a new standard in terms of high-quality, high end-style runway shows, complete with VIP seating, credentialed media access, and upscale promotional and after-parties. PHFF is a cultural and social event that will grow each year, giving fashion enthusiasts one more reason to name the city a preferred tourist destination. While the city’s unique cultural amenities and wonderful people have put Port Harcourt on the map, PHFF will help make sure we stay there.
The calendar for the PFF is already in full swing with the male and female model castings already done and dusted and a pre-fashion festival runway show at the Port Harcourt mall. The event has three definite opportunities for fashion hopefuls. But here’s one event that is open to every hopeful, even if you’ve never stitched a single seam before.
The Port Harcourt Fashion Festival fashion workshop will hold from the 30th of May to the 4th of June and will teach the basics of fashion as shown by some of the best in the PH fashion community, it seems like a great deal. So check it out maybe.
