Celebrity Stylist Jane Michael Ekanem is no stranger to any fashion insider. Her work has graced several magazine covers and as a stylist she has worked with all the major Fashion Weeks in the country and helped craft images of some of our biggest celebrities. So it’s only natural that to expand her brand and boost her image, Ekanem is stepping out from behind the mannequin and becoming a celebrity herself. Or to be more precise, a mediapreneur.
Ekanem recently debuted a website www.janemichaelekanem.com and a new Youtube channel where she’s already put up the premier episode of her brand new web show ‘Revamp Your Style’. The show features celebrity guests and has Ekanem dishing out all the tricks she’s learned in her time as a stylist. She also gives practical examples of how to recycle old wardrobe favourites. It all seems pretty interesting. Quite refreshing to see a stylist finally take charge of her brand, considering how badly most are treated in the industry.
Ekanem’s first guest is Liz Osho, editor at Genevieve Magazine online and avid fashion commentator. We wish Osho had more screen time to talk more about the unique challenges having a job at at a place like Genevieve. The rest of it is a little arts and craftsy, but this is the first episode and Ekanem makes the minutes literally fly, so we’re gonna let it have the four episode test.
