It’s not a rumour!
Tennis champion and new mom, Serena Williams will be getting married to her fiancé, Alexis Ohanian this weekend and US news sites have not spared us any of the details they’ve managed to glean about the ceremony.
Most headlines claim the couple who welcomed their first child in September will be tying the knot this week while some even say it’s today. We also know that the wedding will be star-studded and that comes naturally as Serena’s longtime circle consists of some of entertainment’s favourite women, LaLa Anthony, Ciara, Gigi Hadid, Beyonce, Meghan Markle and the Kardashians.
Earlier in November, Serena, her sister Venus and some of their girlfriends treated themselves to a white-themed all-girl party which we would like to consider her bridal shower. For the wedding ceremony, reports have it that the couple will be taking guests all the way to Disney World with a Beauty and the Beast theme, a decision that E! News says will see Serena through multiple outfit changes for the wedding and reception.
Thus the question “What will Serena Williams wear?” becomes pertinent.
Over the years, the pro athlete has displayed an undeniable penchant for short dresses. Now that’s not to say she hasn’t hit red carpets in droolworthy, floorlength gowns but the shorter ones have won with Serena on more occasions. In recent outings, Serena has been quite the headturner showing up in pieces drawn from the racks of some of the world’s biggest designers.
