Say hello to 2017’s best kept secret.
When Nigerian R&B star and all-round amazing guy, Banky W announced his engagement to beautiful actress and his on-screen wife, Adesua Etomi, the world literally stopped.
First because they had both blown us away with their roles as Dunni and Dozie in 2016’s bestselling, record smashing movie, The Wedding Party. We definitely loved the idea of Banky ‘n’ Adesua as a couple but didn’t quite prepare our minds for its reality.
Then we could not (still can’t) wrap our heads around how they kept their relationship a secret from even most of the members of The Wedding Party cast. We remember some of them admitting, at the time of the engagement, that the amazing on-set chemistry between both individuals signalled the possibilities of a relationship but nothing seemed certain.
Persisting in that tradition of secrecy which we can safely describe as the Wellington family trademark, Banky W and Adesua Etomi have again left us with zero clues about their forthcoming wedding – a move that is very uncharacteristic of celebrities in these parts.
Now what do we know?
Rumour has it that the wedding will hold today in a location that we’re yet to figure out.
We know all their celebrity guests have sworn to secrecy so we won’t be getting any clues until later in the day if the rumours are true.
We’re certain it will be the stuff of dreams with a dash of royalty and we trust wedding planner, Juyin Demuren of Isabella J Plum Bespoke Events to make sure of that.
This is very public knowledge but we also know that Banky’s close friends – Tunde Demuren, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Segun Demuren, Olamide Adedeji – are on standby with top notch support. From their Insta stories, they’re currently holed up in a hotel getting ready.
Adesua’s close friend and actress, Linda Ejiofor recently showed a photo of the bridesmaids in a Hawaii-themed hen party. We see actresses Nancy Isime, Jemima Osunde and Adesua’s manager, Isioma Osaje, so we know something is definitely brewing.
