We’re serious suckers for a good fashion soiree.
After weeks of sitting cramped behind office desks churning out oodles of work, fashion events are parties come like a god send. They provide a place to relax and decompress while we shop some of our favourite brands. This week, the party’s happening at Afrobohemian high street retailer MeiDei.
The brand, in the news recently for it’s MeiDei Style Festival and consequently a concessionary deal with fashion label Fruche is playing host to accessories label, For Queens as they launch in the Nigerian market. This is a total blind launch, as this is the first we’ve heard of this label and the official channels are largely blank of any information save that it is an accessories brand. Nothing better than a physical first impression if you ask us.
The event is holding on the 3rd of June at the MeiDei store in Lekki Phase 1, plus for the bargain hunters, there’ll be a free gift with every purchase. Sweet!
If June 3rd feels too far, then how about this Sunday? The big Lagos Sale is happening this weekend at the Colonnade in Ikoyi and there are drinks, prizes and a ton of vendors, including MarteGele, the accessories brand with gorgeous hand dyed scarves and hand made clutches. Enough to start warming that wallet, no?
And because fashion doesn’t begin and end in Lagos, we’re spotlighting fashion parties in Ghana too. Nigerian womenswear brand, DOS clothing is coming to town this Sunday with its newest collection which we reviewed here. Want to get a piece of Naija, this is your time to do it.
And if you want to support the home team, the African accessories label with the It-bags of the year, A.A.K.S accessories is coming home to Ghana with a popup event to end all popup events. They’re having a WHOLE week to shopping (3rd to 10th of June) dedicated to shopping in Accra. So if you wanted to ever get your hands on one of their hand made one of a kind bags, this would be the time.
