Maryanne Alabi: The street style and runway trends to expect at LFDW 2017

Fashion week is upon us, guys! For me, it is like Christmas in the world of fashion, having soaked up so much from catwalks shows during London Fashion Week and seeing the very best of street style from fall trends 2017 to Spring/Summer 2018.

As Lagos Fashion Design Week is fast approaching, trust fashion enthusiasts bring their best signature style forward with the very best of street style. While we gear up to see the amazing designs on the catwalk this season, you definitely need to be armed with quick but gush-worthy ideas on how to show up for the shows.

As an international fashion stylist, I know it can be a chore trying to figure out what to pull out from your closet or what to try on for fittings with your stylist to fit into the groove of fashion week. If you fall into this category, then set your worries aside as I serve you my street style and runway style predictions for the 2018 Lagos Fashion and Design week.

Some colors to look out for are pale pink, green, red, canary yellow, metallic silver, chocolate brown, deep blue, burgundy and grey.

This season’s hottest trends from now till summer 2018 are: checkered, stripes, fringe, patent leather, sportswear, oversize denim jacket, power blazers, floral prints, velvet, feather infused clothes, colored socks, boots, berets, one earring and belts, to mention a few.

In this shoot, I have infused a lot of these trends wearing colors and styles that will surely make it to the catwalk and will be seen on some style enthusiast and highly fashionable individuals. Gladly take a cue from this, and have fun while at it.
