6 New Year’s style resolutions we probably won’t keep

What’s a New Year without a long list of resolutions we all swear we are going to keep but never really stick to past the first week?

So, since that’s what we’re all about in the first week of the year, let’s do this!

  1. We promise to show more skin

Lagos sun (and our African mothers) be damned. Slits and sheer materials were everywhere last year – and it can only get bigger.

  1. We promise to clean out our closets

We promise ourselves we are going to do this every year, but somehow you still have that ugly bridesmaid’s dress from three years ago hanging in your closet. Donate those clothes you haven’t worn in forever ( or those ones you have refused to accept are ugly but won’t wear) to charity, or drop them off at your local church.

  1. Buy something off your wish list

Go and buy kolo. Not a piggy bank, but proper kolo that you can’t easily open on a whim, and start saving for that fashion item at the top of your wish list. Even if it takes you till December 31st to buy it, SAVE! The Loubs are worth it.

  1. Invest in sexy lingerie

Single pringle or not, wearing sexy lingerie has a way of always making you feel good, even if you are putting on a sack cloth. So invest in some sexy lingerie for your day to day use. You don’t have to wait till Valentine’s Day or bae’s birthday. Do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, do it.

  1. Try something new

Shave off your hair, change your perfume (you’ve been using the same one for years now, and it’s tired of you). Actually try out the “new year new me”(sorry couldn’t resist) thing on your personal style. There’s an 80% chance you won’t regret it.

  1. Stay fit

Hop on the fit fam train, actually put those brand new gym clothes you bought at the beginning of last year to use this year. You don’t have to become a gym rat. You could go for a run in the morning, or commute to work instead of driving.

Screaming at the conductor for your change will definitely burn some calories.

Let the journey begin. And let us know if you have any style resolutions we should follow this year.
